Although we make it look simple, a tremendous amount of work goes into each bear we create. From the beginning (preparing the garment) to the end (placing the finishing touches on your newly-created bear), the work involved can take several days to complete. We go to great effort to make sure that your bear is not only the finest, but also a one of a kind original that you and your loved ones can cherish for many years.
Creating  the bear's face is the most difficult and important task. The facial features are what brings the bear "to life" and provides it with its own personality. Ellen and Jennifer spend hours creating the most expressive faces ever seen on teddy bears. We know the bears aren't really alive, but with Mother Grimm's Bears you may sometimes wonder.

Mother Grimm's Bears is famous for their hand-crafted fur teddy bears. We have created some fabulous bears from, Grandmom Joy's stone martin, Aunt Sue's black seal coat, and Cousin Donna's autumn haze jacket. But it is important to note, our Memory Bears can also be created from other sentimental garments such as, Baby's first blanket, Dad's uniform, Grandpop's flannel shirt, Mom's patchwork quilt or Sis's old wedding gown (shown above.)  And we are always excited about the opportunity to work with any garment that our customers find charming and winsome.

Your Memory Bear will be meticulously crafted with special attention being paid to detail. The look of your bear is determined by factors such as whether you choose to have a boy or girl, what type of fur or garment is being used, and of course the most difficult and important factor, what facial features he or she is blessed with. The quality of our workmanship will provide you with a family heirloom to be passed down for many generations to come.
